Project Barley Square – Trivia Night Recap
Pa’s Peninsula Peeps reminded everyone why they’re always a problem. Strong start, flawless midgame, nailed the music round, and finished it off with a confident Final Wager to take the night with 94 points. No panic, no drama — just control from wire to wire.
Real Quiz Wives of Torrance tried to make things interesting by completely disappearing in Round 3, then immediately snapping back like nothing happened. That recovery deserves credit, and the big finish landed them 83 points and second place. A great comeback… minus the part where they briefly forgot how trivia works.
Scratch Paper People were cruising until the wheels came off in Round 6. Zero points there kept them from threatening first, but a strong close still earned them 82 and third. Proof that even smart teams can trip over one bad round.
DaNile stayed competitive all night and never really collapsed — which in this room is saying something. Solid across the board, smart wagering, and a clean 81-point finish just off the podium.
Mr. Bottomley’s Jacket quietly played one of the stranger games of the night: zeros early, dominance later, and then a shrug in the Final. 66 points and the award for “hardest team to read.” Actually, they haven't played in a long while...and it showed. (Welcome back!)
One Hour Hotdogg came out swinging and then slowly ran out of fuel. The negative Final Wager sealed their fate at 45, making this a textbook example of how not to close a game.
Your Brain On Ale and Deuces Wild battled gravity more than each other, with both teams having moments followed immediately by regret. Still, points were scored, drinks were consumed, and lessons were allegedly learned.
Strong top tier, risky wagers, and at least one team wishing they’d trusted their instincts instead of vibes. Classic Project Barley Square night.
